Siya Kakkar, a 17-year old TikTok star from New Dehli, reportedly committed suicide on June 25, 2020, after receiving death threats online, Yahoo News! reported. Her last video on the app had the caption, "there was no lack of desire, no want of people".

"Siya died by suicide at her residence in New Delhi at around 9 pm on June 25. She lived with her family. Her family is in shock and has requested privacy. No suicide note has been recovered," the Delhi Police told India Today Television (via India Today). Authorities also "seized" her phone to check her call records.

Her manager, Arjun Sarin, told the publication that Kakkar's TikTok career was going extremely "well," and that he had spoken to her the night before her death about "a new project." He added, "My company Fame Experts and me manage lots of artists and Siya was a bright talent."
